Hi,

I've been charged with finding the pressure drop across a two pass shell side TEMA F heat exchanger with HFC-134a as the shell side fluid.  Each pass is individually baffled with double segmental baffles.

I use Aspen HTFS and so i know the values of pressure drop (as well as every single geometrical and fluidodynamic paramater of the heat ezchanger).

The problem is that i need to validate these values of shell side pressure drop with Bell Delaware method (i know it sounds a little futile, but that's it).

Now, i know the Bell Delaware method is used for Shell with single segmental baffle. My question is : Are there any ways to use this method with double-segmental baffles? or are there any correction factors (to apply, for example,  to the "bundle Xflow" and "Baffle windows" pressure drop calculated with single baffle geometry) that give the new real values for double segmental baffle geometry?

Bell-Delaware does use several correction factors and there are extensions of the method, have a look at Heat Exchanger Design Handbook for details.
