Modal testing Problem( Pulse)

Modal testing Problem( Pulse)

Modal testing Problem( Pulse)

(OP)
Dear friends:-

I performed modal testing on plates (free free and canteliver)
I am trying to get modal data from the raw data I extracted from pulse.(ASCII format) but I am confused ...
any one has idea how to solve this problem?

If any one can help I may send a sample of my raw data.

RE: Modal testing Problem( Pulse)

Are you talking shock pulse (hammer) and your data is in G vs Time or inches vs time?  Did you take data at many different points?  In any case ME Scope is great software to use to do actual modal analysis.

for the data process I am using Icats which is also a good software , but I want to do more processing on other software .

Greg I thought that the raw data has allready been subjected to fourier transformation (how does pulse show the 'FRF graphs?).

thanks

RE: Modal testing Problem( Pulse)

oh sorry, I hadn't realised you meant you were using B&K Pulse equipment.

Ok you need to fit modal parameters to your FRF. I haven't used Icats.

I don't understand your question, there's lots of software that can extract modes from FRFs

Cheers
