Tmin calculation

Tmin calculation

Tmin calculation

(OP)
I'm reviewing a pipeline corrosion monitoring report generated by a commercial software and I noticed that for the Tmin calculation, it uses operating pressure.

According to API 570 and ASME B31.3 for the Tmin calculation it needs to use design pressure or MAWP.

Has anyone else come across this?

Thanks,

RE: Tmin calculation

It is most likely a mistake, if the Operating Pressure, Design Pressure, or Maximum Allowed Working Pressure, or whatever pressure that was used in the calculation is not at least equal to the pipeline's stated "Maximum Allowed Operating Pressure" MAOP.  According to DOT regulations, the calculation must use the pipeline's stated MAOP, as per the DOT filing.  Check the latest filing of the pipeline's DOT operating certificate.
