Naming a partitioned cell

Naming a partitioned cell

Naming a partitioned cell

(OP)

I was wondering if there was a way to assign a cell a name much like what can be done with a surface. I'm trying to assign a body heat flux to a cell that I have partitioned and cannot physically see in CAE.  If you cannot assign a cell a name is there away to deactivate cells on the outer surface so I can get to the cells located inside the part?

Thanks,

RE: Naming a partitioned cell

Hi, you have to create a set containing the cell. Then, using "create display group tool", you will be able to selected more easily.

How do you make a set containing a cell? When I create a cell I can only select a surface.

RE: Naming a partitioned cell

Check in the 'Selection toolbar' if, while selecting the cell, you have the option 'Cells' or 'All'.

6.10? If yes, you can use cut planes on the model in CAE and grab it. If not, you could always brute force it and dig your way in by removing the outer cells from the viewport bit by bit.

Sure, Nileo2005. But do it just once. Then create a set and you will be able to reach it whenever you want much easly.
