High speed test stand motor

High speed test stand motor

(OP)
I have a potential customer that is looking for a high speed, high power variable speed motor for a test stand. They need around 700 Hp at 6000 RPM. I have as potential suppliers Reuland Electric, Electric Apparatus Comapny and Calnetix. Can anyone give me some other leads?

RE: High speed test stand motor

While lead times at EAC are very long, I can vouch for the quality and performance of their product.  I've used their motors up to 500hp and 22,500rpm with very predictable performance.  As to the drives for variable speed, they are all running on ABB's DTC drives, ACS600, 800, and now 850.  One exception from 10 years ago, a 22,500rpm motor on a Unico drive (in those days, DTC wouldn't go above 300hz).

RE: High speed test stand motor

The former Reliance RPM-AC motor now made by Baldor are usually rated 7200rpm Maximum Safe Speed.  They are available as large as 1000hp.

I'd try them too.
