electrically actuated diaphragm valve

electrically actuated diaphragm valve

electrically actuated diaphragm valve

(OP)
I am looking for an electrically actuated diaphragm valve.  I am picturing a direct acting, small orifice (Ø.032"), normally closed, 3000 PSI, solenoid driven valve.  Is there such an animal?

RE: electrically actuated diaphragm valve

Is the diaphragm "see" the 3000psi? What is the diaphragm area?

RE: electrically actuated diaphragm valve

(OP)
It would.  I think I should be looking at a poppet style valve instead.  I need it to be bi-directional and with a very low leak rate with hydrogen.

RE: electrically actuated diaphragm valve

Is it hydrogen gas or liquid? What do you mean by bi-directional?

RE: electrically actuated diaphragm valve

What is the allowed leak rate?

RE: electrically actuated diaphragm valve

(OP)
Hydrogen gas.  The flow through the valve could be in either direction, and must seal against the pressure differential in either direction when closed.
Leak rate on the order of .002cc/min.

RE: electrically actuated diaphragm valve

If you are looking for off the shelf valve I am not aware of such valve however, such valve can be designed. Missing information is:

Mode of operation, Life cycle, environment, electrical current available, Electrical voltage, open and close response time, etc.

RE: electrically actuated diaphragm valve

I would check with SwageLok.
