How to find stresses and frequency of a valve to be fitted on a pipe

How to find stresses and frequency of a valve to be fitted on a pipe

(OP)
Hi,

Does anyone know how do I calculate the frequency of a valve to be fitted into a pipeline, when I have no idea about the supports spacing in the pipe.

Also, I have been given nozzle loads and am asked to qualify the valves based on those nozzle loads and combined with gravity and seismic load....My question is what boundary condition do I assume at the flanges of the valve ??

Basically I want to solve it as beam problem (I will assume that valve can be modeled with a pipe of least section thickness (conservative approach) and was wondering what the end boundary condition should be ?

Also, If anyone else have experience of seismic qualification on valves..plz guide

Thanks
NandViks
