How to remove Registry Entries

How to remove Registry Entries

(OP)
Hi,

I was trying to re-install SolidWorks 2010 on a Windows XP machine. I did a complete uninstall of SW, but the registry entries are still there. I tried to delete the following "HKEY_Local_Machine\Software\Solidworks", and I couldn't.

I was following the instructions as per the FAQ
"http://www.eng-tips.com/faqs.cfm?fid=488"

Any suggestions,
Thanks

RE: How to remove Registry Entries

Do you have priveleges on your computer to edit the registry?  Many IT departments lock you out of doing registry edits.

The delete key is all that is needed.

RE: How to remove Registry Entries

Check these posts on same topic (helpful while installing/uninstalling SolidWorks). But as Anna said, you must have rights to delete registry keys.
