Machine Directive 2006/42/EF?

Machine Directive 2006/42/EF?

Machine Directive 2006/42/EF?

(OP)
Do you have any idea about Machine directive 2006/42/EF?
Now, I m preparing a proposal and the customer want to get a conformity according to Machine directive 2006/42/EF.
If anybody knows anything about, please explain to me.

RE: Machine Directive 2006/42/EF?

Ask your customer to supply a copy of the directive or a source where you can get the directive.

RE: Machine Directive 2006/42/EF?

I agree with BillPSU as taking this approach insures that you are both working to the same version

RE: Machine Directive 2006/42/EF?

2006/42/EF seems to be the Danish language version of 2006/42/EC. Do mean that you need help with 2006/42/EC? This is the directive:

http://ec.europa.eu/enterprise/sectors/mechanical/documents/legislation/machinery/

There's a guide for it at:

http://ec.europa.eu/enterprise/sectors/mechanical/files/machinery/guide_application_directive_2006-42-ec-2nd_edit_6-2010_en.pdf

If so, that means that your machine has to meet the Essential Safety and Health requirements of Annex I of the directive. This isn't trivial.

The best route is to hire a consulant or send it out to a CE certification shop.

You could self-certify relatively easily if there is a harmonized standard that applies to your specific machine listed in:

http://ec.europa.eu/enterprise/policies/european-standards/documents/harmonised-standards-legislation/list-references/machinery/index_en.htm

Hopefully they didn't list the EMC directive. :)
