I need to know the heating properties of carbon fiber, versus titanium.

Do you know where I could acquire such information?
A chart would be helpful. Or possibly a book.

Thank you.

RE: I need info on the heating properties of...

That's a really broad question.

Are you looking for thermal expansion, thermal conductivity, heat capacity? Also, keep in mind that carbon fiber is highly anisotropic.

I'm in need of all the information. Although, specifically thermal conductivity. That is why i mentioned i needed a book.

And yes i know carbon fiber is anisotropic, I'm trying to minimize the temperature of the carbon fiber, While attached to the titanium.

It is a broad question yes. But i must start from somewhere.

I assume you have hit up MatWeb already - it does generally do a nice job with thermal properties.

My general experience with carbon fiber is that its thermal expansion is an order of magnitude less than metals (including titanium). I find titanium to be a poor thermal conductor, carbon fiber to be a good conductor.

You need to understand the properties of the finished composite, not just the carbon fiber reinforcement.  Thermal properties will be influenced considerably by the matrix and the interface between the two.  Here are some links to references on the subject:

Thank you, that does help a bunch!
