some of the constraints I create show in the graphics window as one of the blue color assignments (easy to identify with a navigator click) and some come in as magenta (hard to identify from navigator). Is there a way to change the color after the fact?

RE: constraint color in graphic display - NX6

Are we talking about Assembly Constraints or Sketch Constraints?  I suspect Assembly Constraints, but I want to be sure before we dive into this winky smile

I am talking assembly constraints. The assembly file has multiple arrangements whose usage of components over lap into one another. The components are assigned to layers. My practice is to assign the constraints to the same layer as the component and I can find specific constraints thru other query options. I can change the Hi Lite color for 'preselection' and 'selection' but I rather simplify the process with a uniform constrain color and Hi Liting from the assembly navigator.   thank you for your response

It appears that while you can preset the Assembly Constraint 'status' colors using Customer Defaults, these cannot be changed/edited once an assembly has been created.
