Power System Simulator/Engineering PSS/E

(OP)
Hi

I work for an electric utility .I have come across a report that is generated by a Siemens software tool PSS/E .I need to extract the generation data for a new wind farms from that report to update our Aspen oneliner model.I am not sure how to read subtransient, transient, and synchrounous reactances of the generators from there. Also ,I dont know if the values for transformers ,lines, and generators are in per units.I have no contact from the generation that own those wind farms so all I have is that PSS/E report .I would be glad if anyone tells me how to get around with it.

Thanks so much

RE: Power System Simulator/Engineering PSS/E

What file extensions do you have available for the PSS/E files?  Usually you will have some of the following:

*.raw
*.dyr
*.seq

or something similiar...provide the file extension and we can help you out as to the syntax and how to read the file.  One hopes you have text files, and not binary files...

RE: Power System Simulator/Engineering PSS/E

Hello,

Typically, PSSE has the raw file which contains all positive sequence data,it is a text file which starts defining the base power to which the impedances of all elements is defined.

Almost all values are referred in pu to the base power, typically 100 MVA but, it should be checked.

If you know the version of PSSE in which the study was done, we may look at the manual and try to get the values you are looking for.

Regards,
