Assembly 3D Sectioned Drawing Views

Assembly 3D Sectioned Drawing Views

Assembly 3D Sectioned Drawing Views

(OP)
Hi all. I have an assembly showing a couple of stages of a steam turbine and I'm trying to insert sectioned drawing views from a couple of specific 3D viewpoints so that detail can be seen which is not visible from the isometric viewpoint. So far the only 3D sectioned view that I have been able to insert is the isometric one.

I am able to get to the views that I require using the 3D Drawing View tool but I need a way to fix these in the drawing for printing. Is this possible?

Thanks

NickCll

RE: Assembly 3D Sectioned Drawing Views

You can create the views in your assembly first then insert them into the drawing.

Thanks Dan, I have been able to get these views using the whole assembly but I need a view of the assembly at those angles once it has been cut through for a section. Is that possible using the assembly views function?

Cheers

Nick

RE: Assembly 3D Sectioned Drawing Views

Just position the assy how you want it.  Save the view.  Do an assembly cut to control what you want to section.

Use the Orientation toolbar (spacebar) to save the view.
