Voltage econimics in selection of Substation Voltage
Voltage econimics in selection of Substation Voltage
(OP)
I know one formula
Economic Voltage = 5.5 Sqrt{L/1.6 + KVA/150}
Where L = Length of Transmission Line
KVA is Power to be transferred
Is anybody aware of the standard/ code from where this taken?
Are there other methods also to check the voltage economics?

That formula suggests much higher voltages than we use, though our voltages are based on history rather than current economic analysis.
