reinforcement of multiple opening

Dear Friends
For reinforcing of three opening which distance between their centers is less 1 1/3 of their diameters, what consideration could i mentioned?Could i overlap one of my reinforcement plates over another reinforcement plate?

RE: reinforcement of multiple opening

I'm sure you could overlap reinforcing pads.

But... there are better options, and in any case, you should first consider reading the code to which you are designing. If you are designing to a particular code, consider telling us which code that is. You might get far better help with more clearly posed questions.

RE: reinforcement of multiple opening

You'd normally use a combined reinforcing plate rather than overlapping.

Do you know any references Related this matter?

Rezapayman,

Use of combined RF pad is common especially on big process columns which have plenty of nozzles alongwith pipe and platform support clips.

However if your openings are on same center line , your design (assuming you are using ASME code ) will be goverened by UG-42(c) and question of combined reinforcement does not arise.

RE: reinforcement of multiple opening

in sect I called doubled up.
