V5 Surfacing question??

V5 Surfacing question??

V5 Surfacing question??

(OP)
I have a solid catpart and I want to convert the solid to a single surface. I am able to convert the solid to multiple surfaces but I want a single surface.  Currently running V5 R19 which includes the generative shape design (gsd) work bench.

RE: V5 Surfacing question??

i think u can use this work
1) use of " extract " to change solid to surface
ibsert> operation> extract
2) use of ' join " to all surface to 1 surface
ibsert> operation> join

RE: V5 Surfacing question??

Use the extract in tangent and  select the body.
Also have datum on and then you can deactate the datum

RE: V5 Surfacing question??

dtwo,
You can use GSD Extract with Point Continuity to give you 1 group of surfaces.  Your choice of datum or not datum. Because you have GSD you have Multi Extract.  This will allow you to pick a patch of the solid and set it to tangent continuity then select another patch and pick a different continuity type.  The result will be 1 group of surfaces.  There is a federation option in GSD that will make the group of surfaces act as 1 surface.

Derek
