How can I give a surface a thickness?

How can I give a surface a thickness?

How can I give a surface a thickness?

(OP)
I have created a concave surface that I want to be ~1mm thick. Can I convert my surface into a solid? Or can I somehow create another, smaller surface (with the original surface as a template) so that they are separated 1mm apart?

RE: How can I give a surface a thickness?

There is a THICKEN command that should do as you ask.

If you want 2 surfaces 1mm apart, use the copy or offset face command.
