Can any one help me regarding padeye dimensions to DNV standard.

Thanks

RE: Padeye dimensions

Please excuse my ignorance.  What is a padeye?  And, for that matter, what is DNV?

BA

RE: Padeye dimensions

A padeye is a term used for a tab plate with a hole in it - usually to receive a cable shackle for lifting via crane.

I think the question is directed at what diameter the padeye hole should be for a given shackle pin...but maybe psaum can elaborate.

I am intrested in the padeye thickness as I have a spreadsheet that gives the padeye thickness for the following shackles:

1-1/2", 17 tonne Working load limit shackle as 59mm thick
1-1/8", 9-1/2 tonne Working load limit shackle as 45mm thick
1", 8-1/2" tonne Working load limit shackle as 41mm thick

I am just curious to find out if the above is correct.

Hope this makes sense.....

DNV (Det Norske Veritas) is a standard that we are working to....they have a standard DNV 2.7-1 and 2.7-3 both have some info on padeyes.
