Droop kVAR vs Cross Current
Droop kVAR vs Cross Current
(OP)
I know the differences (at least i think) between these but not to sure which one would be better for (4) paralleling of 480V, 2500kVA, 4w+g generators.
When was the last time you drove down the highway without seeing a commercial truck hauling goods?

RE: Droop kVAR vs Cross Current
Before the question can be properly answered you need to tell us a bit more about your system. Standby or prime? What kind of voltage and frequency tolerence do you have? Will need capability to parallel to grid?
Cross current compensation can work well in many applications, best if units all the same size or type with the same voltage regulators.
Why aren't you considering active kVAR control? Just about every major switchgear supplier and controls manufacturer has components or systems to provide very good sharing for units this size.
Basler has some excellent literature on most methods in their technical library, a little time to register and then access to some very good free information. www.basler.com
