thread238-109913: Vulkene cable?

I am sourcing at the moment for suppliers of Vulkene Power Cable.
Actually I found out that they are not produced any more! GE closed the factory. By Google I found alehman´s Thread. I hope anyone can help me. Maybe alehman can tell me his conclusion. Or Maybe somebody can give me some specifications which could help me sourcing for similar cable.

Thanks for any kind of help!

RE: Vulkene Power Cable

Regarding the client in that post, I recommended replacement. To my knowledge they have not.

RE: Vulkene Power Cable

Vulkene was a rubber based compound that GE used.  Many of this group have preferences for tree retardant XLPE insulation or EPR.  I suggest you contact General Cable, Southwire, Okonite and Prysmian for quotes on one or the other.

If you stick with the rated mil thickness for your particular operating voltage recommended by the ICEA, you should be OK with any Vulkene replacement.
