460V to 400V AC 3PH
460V to 400V AC 3PH
(OP)
I have a bunch of european equipment that runs on 400VAC 3PH. Currently, we are stepping 460V down to 230V with one transformer. Then going from 230 to 400 with another. This seems like such a waste of resources just to drop the voltage 60 volts. There has to be a solution out there besides custom built transformers. Anyone solve this problem?

But what are you running? AC motors may not need any changing at all, and in fact if you do drop the voltage you may burn them up. Post more details.

RE: 460V to 400V AC 3PH
It is machinery from France that requires 400 VAC 3PH, 50 or 60 Hz. The power is distributed to Servo, AC drives, and 24VDC power supplies in the machine panel. I've looked at many different buck/boost transformers, but can't seem to find one that "bucks" 60 volts.
RE: 460V to 400V AC 3PH
The term buck-boost is generally associated with smaller sizes auto transformers (a few VA and 240 to 220V ), in the USA.
