Strong material with low friction coefficient with steel
Strong material with low friction coefficient with steel
(OP)
Hi all!
Here I bring a question:
We are working on some special supporting parts which will hold a plate at low temperature.
They have to be strong enough due to the weight of the supported pieces and also it has to allow the deformation caused by the shrinking of the plate
Our first attempt was making something with steel and teflon. It turns out after some structural simulations the teflon is not resistant.
We need a low friction coefficient because of this shrinking displacement. Teflon-Steel has low coefficient
Do you know any other material with low coefficient of friction but strong?
We've thought about coating steel with teflon, like a frying pan...
Thank you in advance
Cheers,

They apply low friction coatings to many metals.
