flexible leaf springs?

flexible leaf springs?

flexible leaf springs?

(OP)
does anyone know how to make flexible metal leaf springs in solidworks?.. i have a hairpin shaped leaf spring i need to make and cant figure out how to get it to flex in the assembly, which is really important for testing the range of motion of the components associated with it.

RE: flexible leaf springs?

You can make it flex using the Flex command, but for what you are doing I recommend you make several configurations of the leaf spring (Min Deflection, Max Deflection, Normal Deflection).  Once you have it properly mated in your assembly then you can change which configuration to use and see the results.  Other than that you'll need to get into the FEA simulations.
