NX4 Parts List

NX4 Parts List

NX4 Parts List

(OP)
In Unigraphics V18 with the old method, it was possible to create a parts list with option No component.
Where is this option in NX4 ?
Thanks in advance
Didier

RE: NX4 Parts List

Do you mean that you would like to include a component in an Assembly but you would like to not have it appear in the Parts List?

If so, and you would like this particular part file to NEVER appear in any Parts List no matter which assembly it's part of, then open that part file and added the following Part Attribute to the file:

PLIST_IGNORE_MEMBER

Note that the 'value' of the attribute is irrelevant just as long as it is present, that part will never be included in any Parts List.

Now if you ONLY what this for one example where this part is being used, but not necessarily effect other situations, then simply add this same attribute to the Component itself in the Drawing Assembly of interest by selecting the Component using the Assembly Navigator, pressing MB3 and selecting the 'Properties' item.

BTW, if this is something which may happen often and you have a customized Part Template, do what I do.  I add this Part Attribute to my template file except I 'misspell' the name, something like 'PLIST_IGNORE_MEMBER_X' and then since the value is irrelevant I set it to "Edit Name, remove _X" as a reminder that if I want to 'activate' this this option all I have to do is edit the Attribute name either in my part file or after it has been added as a component to a Drawing Assembly.

Hi John

Thanks for your answer

In fact my customer need to start with an empty parts list because he doesn't want all the components and it's more easy by this way. He want to edit level and add some components after.

Could you confirm that this option (no compnent) was in V18 ? and where is it now ?

Thanks in advance

Didier

RE: NX4 Parts List

Attached is a Drawing of the same 'Block_with_Attribute' part and I had no problems getting the Description Attributes to be included in the Parts List.

Hi John

It seems that you make a mistake with another thread !!!

RE: NX4 Parts List

As for Unigraphics V18.0, at that time we did not use the Attribute scheme to control that Parts List content, but rather depended on an explicit option on the Parts List dialog to 'Remove' Entries.  You would get a list of the items included in the Parts List and you would just select the ones that you wished to remove and hit OK.
