Plastic Material for 8-15um IR transmittance
Plastic Material for 8-15um IR transmittance
(OP)
I am trying to do IR(body heat) sensing through a plastic window(1mm thickness).
The electronics portion working well but all the "IR" windows I put in front of it pass so little energy that the unit is useless(Clear polycarbonate and PMMA).
The plastic window must be rigid and flame retarded.
Any suggestions on what I should be looking for?
Thanks and regards,

I think if you follow similar advice you will probably need to choose a non-polymer.

Your requirement to have it flame retardant is likely to make the goal hard or even impossible as the flame retardant additive will also block IR.
