Hi,

Im looking to get the following software,

"ABB REF542plus Configuration Tool VD4.02a"

I need to communicate with an ABB REF 542plus Feeder Protection Relay tomorrow (short notice job) and have been all over ABB's site and eleswhere on the internet but cannot seem to find it to download it, is it free software does anyone know?

Attached is the manual for the software I'm after.

Any help would be appreciated.

Regards,

Kyle

RE: ABB REF542plus Configuration Tool VD4.02a

I have only H-version. Hope it will be good for you: REF_OperTool_Setup_V4D02H.EXE

You can download it from here: http://tranz.it/load.php?id=dtjAPrP3soAQNvuy614459

As far as I know this software is free, so there is no copyrights violation.

Excellent thanks for this, at least now I should be able to stick some final service settings in without doing it all by hand.

No problem, mutual support is what this forum is intended for.
Good luck with relays. Frankly speaking I don't like much that series and try to avoid them when possible. When using ABB relays I prefer old REF541,3,5's, although their software is quite "wooden" for my taste.
670-series are much better, but too expensive under 110 kV. Now I am looking for some project where could test new 630-series which will be intended for MV-level.
But when I have a choise of supplier I usually prefer 7SJ62, 63 from Siemens (please don't tell this to local ABB representatives winky smile).

Not sure what voltage levels they can be used up to but the easiest and simplest relay range iv'e found is the GE Multilin range, Although I have imited experience, micoms seem to be all i see on the jobs im doing a the mo. You lost me on the siemens relays you quoted I only know of a siprotec, will have a look though.

The download must be corrupt somewhere along the line by the way, I get an error message when i try to run the setup, "Error Reading Setup Initialization File". Thanks anyway, much appreciated, I'll source it from somewhere :)
