Getting rid of underline when inputting custom values

Getting rid of underline when inputting custom values

Getting rid of underline when inputting custom values

(OP)
So I have a group of very complex parts that look identical but with different sizes (not a perfect scale though) and I would just like to cheat a bit and take 1 drawing and change the dimensions, but when you put in a custom dimension, it underlines it to indicate that it is not the original dimension. Is there a setting to turn off this underline and just change my numbers without changing the model?

Thanks

RE: Getting rid of underline when inputting custom values

RMB on the dimension and then Properties > Terminator & Symbol.
There is a box on there to set the Not to Scale indicator to None.
Note that this will not affect subsequent dimensions.
To do that you would need to change the dimension style.
Styles > Dimension > Iso (or whatever you use) > Modify.

Where would we be without sat-nav?

Thank you beachcomber, I knew there was an easy way to do it but couldn't find it, I even looked through that menu. I'm told now that I need a model for each so it doesn't matter for that anymore, but still can use that for other drawings.

Thanks again

If the parts are similar form but different sizes (and there aren't too many of them) you could look into Family of Parts.
This would let you tabulate all the variable dimensions on the drawing of the master part, and also let you easily create new ones.

Hmm, I forgot about family of parts. Never really used it but this is the perfect application for it. I'll give it a try on the next one I do. Even if it takes me a while to figure out, probably will save me time in the long run.

Thanks again for all of the tips. You should start an solid edge consulting firm and make some money at this, but Im glad your advice is free.

Jordan.
