Giddings & Lewis PIC 900 PLC controller Password

(OP)
I have a G&L PIC 900 controller hooked up to an older machine that I need to enter a Password A and a Password B into the PIC in order to make an adjustment on a Siemens Drive that is hooked in to the PIC controller.  The PIC is about 10 years old and I have not needed to make any adjustments to the machine since the controller was installed.  I have had in house maintenance electricians retire and leave the company and for whatever reason the passwords were not recorded.  Is there a default password that will allow me access to the PIC controller?  The last passwords were four digit numbers, but in order for me to change a password I need to enter the old one which I have but it does not work.  Any suggestions or ideas,  I need help.

RE: Giddings & Lewis PIC 900 PLC controller Password

Have you experimented with numbers that can be mistaken for others?

A hand written closed top 4 can look like a 9.

Some really sloppy rounded 5's can look like 6's.

A hand written European 7 with a slash can look like a 9 to an American.
