Color in drawings

Color in drawings

(OP)
I have a SW drawing converted from AutoCad.  It is in color and when I open it, it first shows up in color but by the time it opens all the way it is in black and white. Can anyone tell me how to make it stay in color?

Thanks!

RE: Color in drawings

Are you able to open the file correctly on another machine?

Are you able to post the file here for checking on other machines?

What graphics card are you using?

RE: Color in drawings

(OP)
Yes, it is color on someone elses machine.  I cannot post it. We have the same video card.  I have windows 7.  The other machine does not.  Is there a setting I can change?

RE: Color in drawings

Did you rebuild the drawing after it opened all the way in SW using ctrl+Q? A lot of times ACad drawings have layers and filters, did you check that?

I did control Q.  I am not sure how to check the layers.

RE: Color in drawings

Try toggling the Color Display Mode in the Line Format toolbar.

If that doesn't work, try using the Copy Settings Wizard from one of the other machines to yours.

RE: Color in drawings

As CBL suggested, try Copy Settings Wizard. There may be colors changed in "Tools/Options/System Options/Colors/.
The Copy Settings Wizard from another computer should bring them over.

Try a hard save on the drawing, and then close out SW and reopen the drawing. It might show up in color.
