Error while Creating TRUSS sections

Error while Creating TRUSS sections

Error while Creating TRUSS sections

(OP)
I am performing a  simple static linear analysis where in load is applied to the node forming the wireframe in the middle of the model which I have assigned a truss section. When I submit the job I see an error - " 24 elements have missing property definitions. The elements have been identified in element set ErrElemMissingSection."

I am not sure what I should do here. I did check the input file. the following is section assignment ii correct.

** Section: chained_wire
*Solid Section, elset=_PickedSet9, material=chained_wire
2.,

Also, the element type assignment in mesh module says it is using beam elements for meshing.

I have no idea why I am getting this error message.

Could someone please help me with this problem. It will be great if I could fix this problem.

Thank you in anticipation. I have atatched a copy of .cae file along with this post.

Regards,
Anjali

RE: Error while Creating TRUSS sections

If I remember this error correctly, the problem is your element.  You'll need to click "Assign Element Type", select your trusses and choose T3D2 elements or similar.  For whatever reason, ABAQUS defaults to meshing truss sections with beam elements.
