Ansys; meshing volumn of object using shell element

(OP)
Hi, i'm new to ansys. i'm trying to analyse fibre reinforced composite structure using shell99 element. Meshing works ok in 2d but not in 3d. is there a way of solving this? any help will be greatly appreciated.

RE: Ansys; meshing volumn of object using shell element

Presumably you mean that you can't mesh a volume with shell99 elements. There is a solid shell element available (SOLSH190) but I don't think it is suitable for layered apps. You'll therefore need to mid-surface the volume into a planar surface.
