Cooling Tower Flow

Cooling Tower Flow

Cooling Tower Flow

(OP)
Where would you route the flow from a Cooling Tower?  Does this typically go to the sewer system or underground detention basin?  Thank you.

RE: Cooling Tower Flow

One assumes that you are talking about cooling tower blowdown.

Routing of the cooling tower blowdown depends on the analysis of the water. For example, if the turbidity is not too bad, then you can direct discharge.

If the turbidity and TDS are high, you might perfer to route the water to a sanitary sewer.

You need to know the water analysis and discharge regulations in otder to make a reasonalbe proposal.
