ASTM A105 Grade 2

ASTM A105 Grade 2

A client of mine has specified Class 900 carbon steel flanges per ASTM A105 Grade 2.  Does anyone know the composition and material characteristics of "Grade 2".  I do not see any reference to Grade 2 in the latest (2010) version of ASTM A105 standard.

As a side note, while searching the internet, I found that the Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL) also specified this material on their Steam Energy Distribution Master Specification (link: engstandards.lanl.gov/specs/33_6300R2.doc - 2010-01-070.)

Any reference to direction would be most appreciated.

RE: ASTM A105 Grade 2

I did not see (SA 105-05) or ever heard of a Grade 2 for this material specification.

Thank you metengr.

I'm glad to know that I'm not going crazy. I'll add this to the list of "questionable" spec items that my client has requested.

Thank you again.

@jbeckhou - Thank you. I searched before I posted but didn't see this thread. Excellent understanding.

I appreciate it.
