generator breaker question

generator breaker question

generator breaker question

(OP)
A 480volt 3 phase 700Kva generator parallels onto a utility via a General Electric THC series Powerbreak switch, should the generator wires be connected to the Line side of the switch or does it even matter?
Presently the Utility is connected to the Line side.
Thanks in advance.

RE: generator breaker question

Hopefully there is an automatic breaker in the circuit somewhere besides this "switch".  To answer your basic question, technically it does not really matter, but what you describe would be a typical set up.
