Approved Backflow Device List

Approved Backflow Device List

Approved Backflow Device List

(OP)
Many localities specify that only backflow preventers approved by the USC backflow foundation can be installed.  However, despite diligent web searching, I am unable to find a recent edition of this list.  The USC backflow foundation website states that it is not available to the general public--or, it seems--to anyone who isn't a member.  The question I'm trying to answer is whether a specific "reduced pressure zone" BFP can be installed in a "vertical up" orientation.  This information is on the USC list (i.e. they have actually tested the device in that orientation), and a manufacturer's assertion as to vertical installation will not meet the requirement.  Does anyone have any suggestions?

RE: Approved Backflow Device List

If you go to the ASSE website (www.asse-plumbing.org and go to the listings page, go to the "search product listings", type in the ASSE standard for the type of backflow you are looking at - it will give you a list of the products that comply with the dates, etc.
