pipeline simulation

pipeline simulation

(OP)
Hi
I want to know which software(Pipephase or OLGA)is more reliable for simulation of a onshore-offshore pipeline with 25 km length which transmit 3 phases GAS stream.
what is the limitations , PROs and CONs for each one.

RE: pipeline simulation

There are 25 hard core multi-phase products that compete with OLGA.  There are a couple of hundred products that compete heads-up with PipePhase.

I'm not even going to ask why you limited your question to those two since I have no intention of writing a detailed evaluation of either product with limitations and an objective list of pro's and con's for each one.  People pay me good money to prepare that sort of detailed report.

David

RE: pipeline simulation

I thought OLGA was a transient simulator and Pipephase was a steady state simulator?

Sort out what are you trying to simulate: steady state conditions (for say, pump/ compressor sizing and insulation requirements) or transient behaviour (for say surge relief design) and then ask again?
