Hi there,

I have a STP file of an assembly which is opening without error but there is no geometry showing. The file is 70Mb so the information must be in there somewhere.

The tree opens with all of the part names. When I try to "Activate Node" or "Activate terminal node" (under representations) I get either an invalid operations error message or a file not found (which is wierd because in a STP there should be no other files required)

Has anyone seen this before?

I have found a page discussing something similar but there is no fix for my release of V5. http://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg1HD96316

Any help would be greatly appreciated. We are running V5 R18 on XP.

Cheers

Tim

Try Tools/Visualization filters and make sure it is set to "All visible"

RE: Step file opens empty

Tim,
What license options do you have.  I tried opening a step file with one of our machining config and it produced an empty assembly structure.  That same file with our design license scheme translates correctly.  You need to have an ST1 in the license.

Regards,
Derek
