Spread Sheet for calculating Ff/Fl number for concrete slabs

Spread Sheet for calculating Ff/Fl number for concrete slabs

My client poured some floors for a Wal-Mart addition and the floor did not meet their flatness requirements.  My client wants to bring his Surveyor in to obtain elevations to check the floor flatness.

Does anyone have a spreadsheet that will calculate these numbers (Ff/Fl number)?  Is their software I can buy for this?

RE: Spread Sheet for calculating Ff/Fl number for concrete slabs

Word of caution for you, checking flatness after the fact may result in numbers that are worse than when originally checked.  No matter how good the cure and mix design, there will be some degree of curling.

As far as checking with an optical level, I have never done it.  Your client may be better off hiring a testing company that has a dipstick tool that would meet the current ASTM criteria for slab testing.  If memory serves, the dipstick tool measures differences to the 1/100 of an inch.

An optical level is not accurate enough to check flatness in accordance with the ASTM standard.  I have a spreadsheet to calculate (if I can find it!), but your data will be useless.

If you want to check it manually, use a SmartLevel or laser and a precision ruler, checking every 12 inches.

CAn I get a copy of your spreadsheet?

Were the original measurements taken during the required time period.  This can have a significant impact on the outcome of the Face flatness.
