(OP)
What would be a estimated range of possible power factor values for the 80 HP motor in a dryer unit?

I'm attempting to estimate energy consumption of these units and have readings for the voltage and current but have been unable to find the power factor.

RE: Power Factor Range 80 HP Dryer

Hi Nick,

Could range from very low (30%) at no-load to pretty high (85%+) at full load.

It's really impossible to tell without a power factor meter or a watt meter...

Good on ya,

Goober Dave
