ProE Crash !

ProE Crash !

ProE Crash !

(OP)
Hi,

I was working in a PDMLink Workspace checking in and updating files, when PDMLink just shut down.

Now when I try to start it I get to the login, but as soon as I log in it shuts down immediately.

Any suggestions?

Cheers

Dave

RE: ProE Crash !

Hi Dave,
It could mean so many things!  But when that happens I usually open a standalone web page and log on from there.  Change a couple of things in my workspace and I try again. A lot of times it works for me.  The browser does not see the new or modified stuff but you can see what you have checked out.  I know family tables are making pro and Intralink crash for me so I remove family table items from my workspace from the browser page and then try to launch Pro again.

Not sure how to logon from a standalone webpage. I managed to get back onto the server though.

I opened Proe, cancelled the login, went to the server registry that lists all the workspaces. My last workspace was highlighted as being the active one.

I right clicked on a different workspace, selected make active. Logged in, and was able to get to the other workspace.

I could view the offending workspace without making it active. I could only see parts that were in commonspace though, none of the new parts.

If I activate the offending workspace and view it, ProE shuts down. I can activate it without viewing it. If I do that, then do file/open from WF3, no files show up for WF to open.

Looking for more suggestions to recover my workspace files?

thanks

Dave

RE: ProE Crash !

Use a web browser and login into PDMlink. Look in your config.pro file for the url to Windchill. IT should have explained this to the users as using a web browser and Wildfire to access PDMLink is critical to effective data management.
