Hydraulic (Oil) Actuator Feed/Return Pipe Sizing?

Hydraulic (Oil) Actuator Feed/Return Pipe Sizing?

Hydraulic (Oil) Actuator Feed/Return Pipe Sizing?

(OP)
Hello everyone, new to the site.

My question:

I need to size the feed / return lines to a hydraulic actuator (spring return) which has a swept volume of 1.7 Litres. The feed will come from a accumulator pre-charge to 250PSI (maintained at this pressure by a pump) and returned to the pickup for the pump.

I've had a mind blank on where to begin really?

The parameters I know:
Pressure: 250PSI
Volume of actuator cylinder: 1.7L
Oil: SAE SG 30
Actuation time: 30-40s.

Where to begin? I've been trying to convert and relate the information I have into equations I know but, currently, without success.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

RE: Hydraulic (Oil) Actuator Feed/Return Pipe Sizing?

Displacement of 1.7 litres in 30-40 seconds is very low.

The physical size of the actuator will limit the size of the ports.

Metric or imperial threads?

Pre-charge is 250 PSI, what is the volume of the acc? That will tell you highest pressure of the nitrogen when the acc is  full of oil. It's the compressed pressure of the nitrogen and the acc port size that govern the exit flow from the acc.

Pipe size will in the region of 10-12mm OD, based on the flow rates.

Need more info to be more precise.
