Polyethylene Creep

I am looking for data on polyethylene creep specifically for LLDPE.  Any data would be appreciated.

Thanks.

RE: Polyethylene Creep

Have you approached the larger traditional high quality manufacturers. I know ICI when they existed published a lot of creep data for HDPE. I expect they did also for other grades. I am not sure who does LLDPE now.

RE: Polyethylene Creep

Lexan is well known for that phenom.

Maybe you will find something in their testing data.

RE: Polyethylene Creep

PE is in another ballpark compared to polycarbonate when it comes to creep, PE being a whole lot worse.

Data vs reality will depend on many factors, temperature and constant or cyclic natures being the more important, but degree of crystallinity, nature of crystals and orientation of molecules will have a significant effect.

The crystalinity and molecular orientation will be somewhat dependant on mould design and processing conditions.
