How do you back up Intralink 9.0 data to offline directory?

How do you back up Intralink 9.0 data to offline directory?

How do you back up Intralink 9.0 data to offline directory?

(OP)
I need to move all files from an Intralink Product folder to an offline directory where the project will be worked on outside of Intralink.  I know how to do this on a file-by-file basis:  if I have a file open in Pro/E, I can switch to offline mode, set the target folder as the working directory, and select "File/Backup" from the Pro/E menu which backs up the file (and dependent files) properly.

So that works, but this Product folder has a ton of files and it would be nice to be able to back them all up to the offline directory without opening each one separately into session to do it.  For example, on the Intralink folder view I can select all files in the folder but there doesn't appear to be an option to back them up offline.

Keep in mind when answering that I am not an IT-savvy person, but I can get such folks involved if necessary.  This just seems like a basic function that should be easy and obvious, but maybe not.

Thanks!

In PDMLink Workspace I can select Tools/Export From Workspace. Dopesn't your Ilink have this functionality?

I can "Export from workspace" which dumps a .pws file, which I guess is the Intralink workspace file format.  I assume this file has all of the Pro/E data embedded in it, but the point is that I need the data to be accessible to workstations that aren't running any form of Intralink, so a workspace is going to be useless.

I just want to select all the files in the workspace, push a button, and then have all of the discrete Pro/E files from that workspace appear in a directory that is unrelated to Intralink.

Just to be sure, you should export from the enbedded workspace in ProE. Select all of the desired files and then use Tools/Export from Workspace as dakeb instructed. Then you will be required to set the target directory to be the folder you want these files dumped to. If this doesn't work it could be possible that your permissions don't allow you to export...in which case you will have to invlove whomever is over the PDM software.
