SW2010 graphical error in shaded w/ edges mode

This topic has been discussed on here before, but the most recent posting  was back in 2005.  The issue that I am having is in the shaded with edges mode where edges will show through thin parts.  For example a sheet metal fender has edges showing through it from the tub of which it is attached to.  The issue is non-existent when zoomed in, but present when zoomed out when at an viewing angle that's not perpendicular to the faces.  I have had this problem since SW07 and my friend also has the same
Problem.  My friend has a ATI / AMD powered laptop, and I have a i7 / FX 3700 in SLI workstation, and also have seen this in UGS NX7, so what exactly is the deal?  I can see drivers or something hardware being related if it was a intermittent thing, but on many different machines, and multiple software packages leaves me to wonder if nvidia is to blame ( friends laptop is a old gaming based ATI card). Any ideas or options buried within SW to alleviate this? Is this something I need to live with?

Thank you for the reply, I will have to test out some different settings if it may even help or not, but in either case, I really appreciate the help.
