Hi

looking for a single start Diametral Pitch worm calculation from measurement over three wires to circular tooth thickness.
& from circular tooth thickness to measurement over three wires.

Heres the data if some one can give an assit.

# of starts~1
DP normal~32
PA normal~20 deg.
lead Angle~ 2 deg 23' 30" RH
axial pitch~ .09826
Pitch Diameter~.749
root diameter~.680-.660
lead~.09826
wire dia~.054
Measurement over wires .826-.824

Thanks

RE: single start worms

This is what I get.......pretty close to your result.
Dimensions are metric.

Reference profile 1.25 x 0.38 x 1.0 ISO 53.2 Profile A

Addendum coefficient                           1.000
Dedendum coefficient                           1.250
Generating angle                              20.000°
Normal Pressure Angle                         20.000°
Helix angle at reference diameter             87.611°
Lead angle at reference diameter               2.389°
Reference diameter                            19.025
Tip diameter                                  20.612
Tip form diameter                             20.612
Root diameter                                 17.040
Generating Profile shift coefficient      0.0000 - 0.0000
Manufactured root diameter                17.040 - 16.982
Normal tooth thickness                     0.000 - -0.021
Theoretical pin diameter                       1.326
Actual pin diameter                            1.372
Diameter at contact point                     19.112
