relationship between hardness and Young's modulus in polymers
relationship between hardness and Young's modulus in polymers
(OP)
Is there a reliable equation relating hardness to Young's modulus for polymers? I have a piece of polymer that would be hard for me to machine into a good tensile testing sample but it might be easy to perform a hardness test.
Please help.

I guess no.

Hardness is mostly driven by strength, though in low modulus materials there is a stiffness component.
If you are working with a type of hardness measurement that is in the fully elastic range then you might be able to develop one.

Have you considered freezing the polymer before/during machining?
