Contact elements for large diplacement

(OP)
Hi,

I have developed a 3D ANSYS model to represent both rigid body movement first and then bearing using contact elements. It is a steel arm with a 30mm diameter hole and a 10mm diameter bolt with larger washers to be fixed. I want to predict the maximum displacement of the bolt. In my model I didn't consider the frictional effect of the washers but I used spring elements to provide stability. Arm and the bolt is constrained in z direction. The arm is fixed and the in-plane displacement is applied to the bolt. I can't make the contact to occurs. Can we use contact elements for this large gap?  Can anyone help me in this please?
