Solidworks 2009 Display Help

(OP)
Hello, my name is Van as you can see this is my first post and I'm hoping knowledgeable people may help. The problem is that when I'm using solid works 2009, it shows a very distorted view when hovering over lines or elements and also when right-clicking on the main screen, also, when I try to change the background's color, it won't do it. I was thinking it had something to do with the graphics card, but I had previously installed the software on my laptop and worked fine, until I had to restore windows.
I tried to attach a picture of the screen but would not upload, but in a few words, the image looks smudged, is as if it leaves traces or shadows of the pop-up menus. thank you beforehand and I hope someone can help

RE: Solidworks 2009 Display Help

What video card is in your system?  SolidWorks needs workstation class cards, Quadro or Firepro.  If you using a gamer Geforce or Radeon card it is a crap shoot if they will work.  If you are using onboard graphics it can be even worse then a gamer card.
