I KNOW OF ELECTRONIC EQUIPMENT OPERATING UNDER WIDE VOLTAGE RANGE  FROM 90 TO 270 VOLTS.AS PER PRELIMINARY INFORMATION  BY SWITCH MODE POWER SUPPLY. CAN ANY BODY PROVIDE ME INFORMATION ON ITS WORIKNG AND DESIGM ASPECTS.

Many PS designers will use an auto ranging module like that supplied by Vicor, if they do not wish to do the magnetics in house.
