Multibody problem in SolidWorks 2007

Multibody problem in SolidWorks 2007

Multibody problem in SolidWorks 2007

(OP)
Hi all,

In SolidWorks 2007, I'm trying to save an assembly as a multibody part. As the tutorial says, I'm opening the "Save As" dialog box and click ".prt, .sldprt" as filetype.

The tutorial in "Help" says that 3 check boxes below should appear, but they don't!

Exterior Faces
Exterior Components
All Components

When I continue and save the assembly as part and make a drawing sheet of it, I can not create section views.

Is there anything that I'm missing or wrong? Why dont the 3 checkboxes appear?

thx

RE: Multibody problem in SolidWorks 2007

The newer versions have those three options to check.  In v2007, I think there is an "Options" button to hit when you try to save as a part file.  If so, select "all components", and when it asks whether to resolve hidden/suppressed parts, refuse that (or it will save every body in your assembly, regardless of what you have shown/resolved).

This should save a multi-body part file that can be sectioned, since the bodies will be solids instead of surfaces.

Save your assembly first and then again do a save as and select type as part, you'll see the 3 options.
